World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item’s level. The cost increases as the item level increases.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, weapons and armor in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they can’t be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular type of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the equipment to which it is used (for example ‘Canthan Armor Insignia” becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A ‘boost upgrade’ can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue upgrading their gear, even if they’re unsure of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be expensive, and it is possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the many Glyphs as well as also a few rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
The use of the Glyph will boost all nodes connected to it, and you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. For instance an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the power of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is referred to as “upping”. Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is upgraded.
Some upgrades require a special ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a problem because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don’t require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, however it shouldn’t be done regularly, as it can waste many resources.
Certain upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin’s Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player continuously enters or exits water. This item can be upgraded multiple times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp’d value.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment–armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385–by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment’s requirements.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to revert to its original condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as crit chance, attack damage, or other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that should a weapon gain an increase in crit chance it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. item upgrading is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to bring every piece of equipment they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different ingredients for upgrading.
